4 Tennessee Cities Named Fall Allergy Capitals

Oct. 3, 2017

Tennesseans have dubious bragging rights when it comes to seasonal sniffling, according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

In its 2016 list of Fall Allergy Capitals, four metropolitan areas in Tennessee were listed as places where pollen sufferers find it challenging to live due to high pollen counts:

  • Memphis — No. 2
  • Knoxville — No. 10
  • Chattanooga — No. 22
  • Nashville — No. 27

Though many allergies have no cure, successful management can be helped by:

  1. Recognizing signs and symptoms
  2. Checking in with medical providers for diagnosis and treatment, and
  3. Reducing or controlling exposure to environmental triggers.
