CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted four employees to leadership roles in the commercial finance division:
- Heath Patterson as financial director of commercial markets
- Will Moses as director of actuarial services
- Jenn Palmer as director of network analytics
- Chris Styga as director of actuarial services
Heath Patterson, Financial Director of Commercial Markets
Patterson joined BlueCross in 2015 and oversees all aspects of financial management that support the commercial business strategy in his new role. His responsibilities include leading the commercial operational finance and commercial performance guarantee committees, as well as leading the long-range financial planning and budgeting processes.
He guides teams tasked with pricing strategies for underwriting, monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting that are part of managing profitability. Patterson is also responsible for oversight and strategy for large self-funded group account contractual performance guarantees.
Patterson earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Freed-Hardeman University and a Bachelor of Science in management from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a Certified Financial Planning & Analysis Professional.
Will Moses, Director of Actuarial Services
Moses joined BlueCross in 2000 and has extensive experience in actuarial services. His current roles are varied and include valuation, pricing and forecasting.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and obtained his Associateship from the Society of Actuaries in 2009.
Jenn Palmer, Director of Network Analytics
Palmer has 25 years of progressive experience in various aspects of the health care industry. Her latest role includes leading the financial and analytical functions in support of the development and execution of the overall provider reimbursement strategy, including hospital, physician, ancillary, and risk contracts.
A BlueCross employee since 2014, Palmer previously served as manager of reimbursement development and contract support, leading a team responsible for completion and interpretation of data related to provider and network reimbursement changes.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University.
Chris Styga, Director of Actuarial Services
In his new role, Styga oversees the risk adjustment analytics efforts for the company’s Medicare Advantage, Affordable Care Act, and Medicaid plans.
He has been with BlueCross since 2012, and previously served as manager in the actuarial services department, leading a team responsible for generating the monthly forecast, providing reserve targets, and delivering accurate and consistent accounting for Medicare Advantage products.
Styga earned a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of Georgia and obtained his Fellowship from the Society of Actuaries in 2017.
