CHATTANOOGA – BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is proud to announce that senior vice president and chief medical officer Dr. Andrea Willis was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of 2018’s Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare. In its seventh edition, the biennial recognition program honors the top minority healthcare executives who are influencing policy and care delivery models across the country. In doing so, they are also highlighting the continued need to nurture diversity in our organizations.

Dr. Willis was recognized for leading efforts to improve the quality of care BlueCross members receive. She oversees the company’s initiative to combat the opioid crisis in the state and has also led efforts to partner with churches to develop a series of health screening events across Tennessee. As part of her commitment to support community health, she serves on the NashvilleHealth governing board and the Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness.
