CHATTANOOGA – BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BlueCross) is helping Tennesseans stay ahead of the 2026 flu season with four drive-through vaccine clinics at locations across the state in September and early October.
Clinics are open to the public, and at each location, flu vaccines will be available for people ages 8 and up from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. local time. BlueCross members or others with health insurance must bring their insurance card to receive the flu vaccine as part of their coverage. Vaccines will also be available for self-paying customers.
Vaccines will be available as follows:
- Sept. 12 – Memphis, Hope Fellowship Church, 1170 Mullins Station Rd, Memphis, TN 38134
- Sept. 19 – Chattanooga, Mount Canaan Baptist Church, 4801 Highway 58, Chattanooga, TN 37416
- Sept. 19 – Jackson, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 106 Glass Street, Jackson, TN 38301
- Oct. 3 – Murfreesboro, Reeves-Sain Drug Store, 1801 Memorial Blvd., Murfreesboro, TN 37129
“Getting your flu shot has been shown to effectively lessen your chances of getting the flu – and may help you get less sick if you do catch it,” said Dr. Andrea Willis, senior vice president and chief medical officer at BlueCross. “We want our members to know the flu shot is covered, and we’re making it more convenient to get vaccinated by partnering to host these community clinics.”
The flu vaccine takes about two weeks to reach its maximum effectiveness, and the CDC recommends members get vaccinated before peak flu season begins.
