CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has named Scott Wilson as vice president of corporate communications and community relations.
In this new role, Wilson will lead the BlueCross corporate communications team, which manages the company’s internal and external communications. He will also continue to oversee its community relations team that supports the company’s charitable giving and civic engagement across the state through the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Community Trust and the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation, as well as TeamBlue, its employee volunteer program.
“Scott’s blend of communications, corporate giving and civic service experience makes him uniquely qualified to oversee these closely connected teams” said Roy Vaughn, BlueCross chief communications officer and executive director of the BlueCross Foundation. “We are excited to have him in this new role.”
Wilson served in multiple communications roles with BlueCross from 2002 to 2009 and returned in 2018 as director of community relations and the BlueCross Foundation.
Under his leadership, the BlueCross Foundation successfully launched the BlueCross Healthy Place program, which provides communities across Tennessee with spaces for connection and recreation, along with the BlueCross Technology Academies at Red Bank and Soddy Daisy High Schools.
