BlueCross Selects Hocking as VP of Commercial Pricing and Network Analytics

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has selected Jeff Hocking as vice president of commercial pricing and network analytics. He will lead commercial market pricing, forecasting and financial analysis efforts for the company.

Hocking joined BlueCross in 1999 as an actuarial assistant and has held several leadership roles over his 16 years with the company.

Most recently, Hocking served as director of group medical and network pricing, where he supervised all aspects of group and individual pricing including premium rate development, medical trend and preparation of rate filings. He has managed the financial analysis related to provider contract negotiations, established and tracked provider budgets, and developed standardized provider reimbursement methodologies. 

“Jeff has led our actuarial efforts in some of our most challenging areas,” said Jim Srite, senior vice president and chief actuary at BlueCross.  “His combination of technical ability, common sense and leadership has added tremendous value to the company, and we look forward to his continued contributions in his new role.”

Hocking earned a Bachelor of Science in actuarial studies from Southern Adventist University. He has been a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an associate in the Society of Actuaries since May 2007.
