Bosse Elected to BlueCross Board of Directors

New director is President of Knoxville construction firm Merit Construction, Inc.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Bruce A. Bosse, president of Knoxville-based Merit Construction, Inc., has been elected to the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee board of directors. His appointment was effective Jan. 1.

Bosse has been with Merit Construction since 1983 helping grow the company to a prominent and award-winning regional contractor. He was named its president in 1995.

“Bruce is a smart, experienced and respected executive, whose insights will be valuable for the BlueCross board,” said BlueCross Board Chairwoman Betty W. DeVinney. “Like others on our board, he has successfully navigated changes in the economy and has been charged with making health care decisions as an employer, which is an important perspective to have in meeting our mission to provide peace of mind through better health.”

Bosse earned a Bachelor of Science in building construction technology from Purdue University. He was in the 1998 Leadership Knoxville Class and has served on a variety of professional, community and charitable boards including the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, the Knoxville chapter of the Associated General Contractors of Tennessee, the Salvation Army and the Historic Tennessee Theatre.
