BlueCross Medicare Advantage Program Earns #1 Ranking from JD Power

Recognition reflects quality of services and member satisfaction

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — JD Power has named BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’s Medicare Advantage program #1 in Member Satisfaction among Medicare Advantage (MA) Plans in Tennessee.

The recognition is based on results from the JD Power 2026 U.S. Medicare Advantage Study℠. This year marks the first time the BlueCross program has earned the honor, and it was the highest ranked of all plans evaluated in its segment.

“Each day, our team at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee works hard to help our senior population find coverage that meets their needs and understand their benefits,” said Jason Habich, vice president and general manager of senior products for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. “It’s an honor to receive this recognition that not only reflects the quality of our plan offerings, but also our commitment to exceptional member service.”

The U.S. Medicare Advantage Study℠ is an annual syndicated benchmarking study profiling member experiences with Medicare Advantage health insurance plans.

The study examines the full experience of Medicare Advantage health plan members and is designed to provide MA health plans with information that can add focus and clarity to the factors contributing to the MA member experience.

To compile the rankings, JD Power sent surveys to individuals 18+ years of age in the United States (excluding Alaska) who are members of a Medicare Advantage plan and have their health insurance provided through a major state-level plan.

Respondents were asked to rate their health plan on a variety of factors, including:

  • Ability to get health services when/how they want
  • Access to digital channels
  • Ease of doing business
  • Help saving time or money
  • Level of trust
  • People – representatives, call center agents
  • Product/coverage options meeting their needs
  • Ability to resolve problems or complaints

Insurers were included in the survey based on their market share across one of 19 U.S. regions. The insurer with the highest overall index score in each region and at least 100 surveys was awarded the honor for that specific region.

The annual Open Enrollment period for 2027 Medicare Advantage coverage runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, 2026. During this period, Medicare-eligible beneficiaries can enroll in an MA plan, switch MA plans or move from original Medicare to MA.
