U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in health care rankings and consumer advice, has named BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST) to its 2024 Best Insurance Companies for Medicare Advantage.
The Best Insurance Companies for Medicare Advantage identifies private insurance companies that offer highly rated plans to seniors. Insurance companies were recognized if their Medicare Advantage plans received an average rating of 4.5 stars or higher, with none rated below 3.0, across all plans within a state. BCBST’s Medicare Advantage plans earned a 4.5 Star rating in CMS’ latest ranking. Every year, Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system.

The U.S. News and World Report Best Insurance Companies for Medicare Advantage 2024 ratings also highlight insurance companies that are among the best nationally in overall coverage, low premium plans, member experience and prescription coverage.

U.S. News analyzed data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to populate its comparison tool and identify the Best Insurance Companies for Medicare Advantage plans. The CMS star rating program annually evaluates individual Medicare Advantage plans on a scale of one to five stars. The U.S. News methodology analyzes insurers in a given state with plans rated three stars or higher by CMS.
