Company earns top ranking among Blue plans for 2022 Forbes list
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — For the fifth time in the past seven years, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has earned a spot on Forbes’ list of America’s best large employers.
The Chattanooga-based plan ranked 27th out of 500 employers and is the highest- ranked Tennessee company in the recently released list. BlueCross is the second- highest ranked insurance company and one of three Blue plans to make the 2022 ranking. The company has earned placement on several Forbes lists in recent years, including recognition as one of Tennessee’s top employers in 2021 and a best employer for diversity in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
“We take pride in maintaining our organization’s culture as we adapt to meet the demands of a changing business environment,” said Roy Vaughn, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at BlueCross. “It’s an honor to have our efforts recognized by our employees in this way.”
The list is compiled by Forbes and market research firm Statista, who surveyed 60,000 Americans working for businesses with 1,000 or more employees. Survey respondents were asked how willing they were to recommend their own employers to friends and family, and were offered the chance to nominate organizations other than their employer. The 500 large employers that received the most recommendations are ranked in the final list.
