CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted Jeff Sundean to the role of vice president of properties and corporate services.
Sundean will be responsible for property and facility management functions and core corporate services for more than 6,000 BlueCross employees and 1.6 million square feet of company real estate in six regional offices. He will direct and oversee real estate transactions, building operations and maintenance, physical security and safety, and all renovation and construction projects.
In 2016, Sundean marked 15 years with the company. He previously was responsible for the corporate facility operating budget, which includes enterprise-wide capital projects, strategic management of all contract facility services, and strategic daily management of all corporate real estate.

Sundean holds a Bachelor of Arts in architecture from Andrews University, and he currently serves on the board of green|spaces Chattanooga. He has been instrumental in several large facility renovations at BlueCross, including the 950,000-square foot Cameron Hill corporate campus in Chattanooga, a LEED Gold-certified facility. He also led the Memphis regional office renovation to LEED Platinum certification. Two other renovated facilities in Chattanooga and Nashville have received LEED Gold certification.
