CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BlueCross) has been ranked No. 3 on Tennessee’s Healthiest Employers list in the 5,000 to 9,999 employee category.
This award by Healthiest Employers® was created to honor organizations that prioritize the well-being of their employee population.

To be considered for this award, companies had to complete a corporate assessment made up of six categories: culture and leadership, programming and interventions, and reporting and analytics. The company’s medical plan options, tuition reimbursement programs, hybrid work models, and paid leave and wellness programs were also evaluated.
BlueCross earned this recognition for its commitment to workplace wellness, their health and benefit offerings, and for expanding its mental health resources for its employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. These additional resources included:
- online cognitive behavioral therapy,
- resources for violence and abuse victims,
- a grant program to provide up to $2,500 during times of crisis,
- and the implementation of a new hybrid work model, which provides greater flexibility and agility for the company to improve work-life balance.
The company was also recently ranked as the Top Employer in Tennessee by Forbes in their 2022 list of America’s Best Employers by State.
