BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST) is proud to announce that senior vice president and chief medical officer Andrea Willis, MD, MPH, FAAP was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the Women Leaders for 2024. This prestigious recognition program acknowledges and honors women executives from all sectors of the healthcare industry for their contributions to care delivery improvement, health equity, policy and gender equity in healthcare leadership.

At BCBST, Dr. Willis establishes and guides clinical processes that are central to improving the health and well-being of the company’s 3.4 million plan members and oversees medical and pharmacy management, medical policy, quality care initiatives and collaboration with the health care provider community. She is a leader of the organization’s health equity work, including the production of a multidimensional Health Equity Report aimed at raising awareness and improving efforts to address the impact of social factors and disparities on Tennesseans’ overall wellbeing.
