BlueCross Enhances Member Mobile Messaging

Members are auto-enrolled to receive improved personalized health care messages via mobile devices

After success with BlueCare and other plans, BlueCross is expanding its member text messaging program to serve additional members in its other plans.

This initiative aims to introduce a more intuitive and engaging format tailored specifically for members, enhancing their connection to personalized content.

What is BlueCross mobile messaging?

Qualifying members will receive a text message from code “69246” inviting them to opt in to mobile messaging with BlueCross. They’ll follow the prompts to access a secure feed on their mobile device browser customized to their plan and needs.

Enhanced mobile messaging will provide members with an ongoing connection that delivers content as a series of individualized experiences. Members will receive relevant health plan and benefits education through an easy-to-use digital platform.

Over time, the browser-based secure feed can become a reference point for members as they’ll be able to scroll through all new and historical messages received – and each message is unique to them.

What information will members receive through mobile messaging?

Information distributed through Mobile Messaging may include information to help members:

  • Understand their benefits
  • Learn their way around BlueCross tools and programs
  • Locate providers
  • Close gaps in their health care
  • Connect to our Care Programs

How can members receive BCBST mobile messaging?

Members will be asked to set a password the first time they access their feed. This is a one-time password and will not require repeated authentication.

Once they’ve done that, their access to personalized health care feeds is enabled.

Members also have the option to sign up for enhanced text message by accessing their online account directly from  https://members.bcbst.com/wps/myportal/member/home/account/communicationsettings.
