How our new mobile app makes benefits info more accessible

At BlueCross, we’re committed to continuous improvements to our members’ experiences. One of the recent ways we’ve done so is enhancing the features to the BlueCross mobile app and putting plan and care information at your fingertips.

Formerly known as myBlueTN, the redesigned and renamed BCBSTN mobile app more closely reflects BlueCross websites with simpler navigation features to help you get to the information you need quickly. The app also includes a personalized member dashboard similar to the website and the ability to connect with customer service through online chat directly from your phone.

“With the app, all members will see a new name and a new look — but most importantly, they’re getting improved service features which make using their health plans even easier,” says Senior Digital Experience Analyst Satyan Patel.

“Our entire app has been tested throughout the process by BlueCross members to ensure we have built exactly what they need the most when they’re on the go. Every step of the way — through the design, identification of features and what information we would display — has all been either requested and/or validated by our member base.”

New feature highlights

The BCBSTN mobile app dashboard shows your coverage and cost information with simple graphics  that highlight the percent of deductible and out-of-pocket expenses you’ve met. You’ll also see recent claims from the dashboard view and links to navigate directly into more information.

Other improvements include:

  • Faster login via Touch and Face ID
  • Live Online Chat to get help from a BlueCross customer service agent
  • Digital Member ID Card to use when getting care
  • Find Care and Costs Estimation all in one view
  • Telehealth Access for those who need “care now”

How to get the app

The BCBSTN mobile app is now available for download in app stores like Apple and Google Play. If you previously had myBlueTN downloaded to your phone or tablet, there’s nothing you have to do. The app has updated already and now shows as BCBSTN.
