Marketplace plan highlights for 2024: Network E coming to Chattanooga

As health care costs continue to skyrocket, we’re making every effort to minimize the impact on the cost of coverage. Next year, BlueCross will once again offer a variety of plans for members who purchase health insurance on their own.

Here’s a look at what to expect in 2024 if you buy coverage through the federally facilitated Marketplace.

  • We are introducing new plans with lower prices, making BlueCross a more competitive option than in 2023.
  • Existing plans will see an average rate increase of 2.7%.
  • We will have the lowest priced Silver plan in the Knoxville and Chattanooga regions.
  • We will have the second to lowest Silver plan pricing in the Memphis region and East Central.
  • We will have the lowest priced Bronze plan in in the Knoxville and Chattanooga regions.
  • In 2024, every BlueCross Marketplace plan includes $0 virtual care.

Blue Network E offers lower rates for Chattanooga-area members

Starting Jan. 1, 2024, Erlanger Health will serve as the anchor system for our first Network E offering in the Chattanooga region. Plans featuring this new network will be priced 18% lower than Network S plans. This partnership expands an affordable model that’s serving Nashville and Memphis customers well.

Blue Network E will be available exclusively for individual/Marketplace plans.

Blue Network E, currently offered to members in Memphis and Nashville, is our lowest-cost network. In addition to providing a more budget-friendly option for Scenic City enrollees, the network’s expansion gives members more resources for care when they travel within the state. For example, Network E members with children on their plan will have in-network access to the wide range of clinical services and specialties at Erlanger Children’s Hospital.

More options for no-cost virtual care

We know our members need and deserve high-quality care that’s quick, convenient, and affordable. That‘s why we’ve committed to expanding virtual care options. With our 2024 individual and small group plans, BlueCross members can talk to a doctor anytime, day or night, at no cost. They can see a dermatologist, talk with licensed therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists, and even select a primary care physician with Teladoc’s Primary360.

Members continue to have access to BlueCross health navigators and registered nurses who can help them get the most from their benefits and connect them to the best care options for their needs.

Rewards for healthy choices

BlueCross individual members can continue to earn rewards in the form of gift cards for completing a personal health assessment and engaging in healthy activities such as being physically active, using virtual care, getting a flu shot and an annual wellness exam. And new for 2024, certain cancer screenings, diabetes management activities and participation in our Healthy Maternity program will also contribute to the rewards.

Dates to keep in mind for getting 2024 coverage

If you buy coverage on your own, be sure to mark your calendar for upcoming open enrollment, which runs from Nov. 1, 2023 through Jan. 15, 2024. New coverage takes effect in January.

Where to get information and shop for a plan

We’ve made it even easier to shop for and enroll in a plan from bcbst.com. And if you need help selecting a plan, contact our sales team at 888-995-7786, a certified application counselor, an enrollment assistor, or a licensed broker or agent. If you receive federal premium subsidies to help pay for your coverage, make sure you make sure you visit healthcare.gov this fall to update your application and see how much financial help you qualify for in 2024.
