We’re helping seniors adopt digital tools and services
Just over 40 seniors in the Chattanooga area recently participated in the Senior Digital Literacy Workshops and learned how to navigate essential BlueCross digital tools and services.
Much like the popular A Matter of Balance classes BlueCross offers to help older adults gain strength and confidence, these workshops offered them hands-on tech guidance and digital support. Some topics that were explored include:
- Navigating the BlueCross Member Portal
- Using the BCBST mobile app
- Opting in for digital communications
- Accessing virtual care through Teladoc Health
- Exploring CareTN and MyHealthPath tools
BlueCross Team Blue volunteers served as mentors to the seniors, providing guidance and answering tech questions during the workshop.
“Volunteering for this program was incredibly rewarding. It was powerful to meet our members’ needs directly and watch them gain confidence with digital tools.”
– Laurel Eldridge, Team Blue volunteer
Participants completed the workshop with an increased level of confidence in their ability to use BlueCross digital tools safely and effectively and noted in post-workshop surveys that they would recommend the class to anyone hoping to sharpen their digital skills.
