Ball Joins BlueCross as Chief Information Security Officer

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. —Diane Ball has joined BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee as Chief Information Security Officer.

In this role, she will be responsible for leading the Information Security program across our company as we work to protect our members and our business.

“Diane brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of information security in an age where cyber-attacks in the healthcare industry are becoming ever more common,” said Nick Coussoule, senior vice president and chief information officer. “Her expertise and strong leadership skills make her an ideal addition to BlueCross.”

Diane comes to us most recently from Fujitsu America, Inc. in Durham, NC, where she served as Chief Information Security Officer and Vice President of Enterprise Risk & Security. She has more than twenty years of security and privacy leadership experience at companies including BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina and Wachovia Bank.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tusculum College in Greenville, TN, with a degree in Applied Organizational Management.

Her strong background in security and privacy, experience across diverse global businesses with significant security challenges and excellent leadership skills make her a tremendous asset to BlueCross. She is also a certified Dale Carnegie Course instructor.

Diane is a Tennessee native, and she will be relocating here to Chattanooga with her family in the coming months. Please extend your warmest welcome and support to Diane and her family as they join our team and make our fair city their new home.
