CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has appointed Wendy Pitts as director of health services for its senior products division.
Pitts will oversee the division’s care management and case management/population health teams. In this role, she is responsible for coordinating and implementing strategies and programs to provide members with effective, high quality products and service.
“Wendy’s considerable leadership experience in case management and clinical operations makes her an ideal fit for this role,” said Dr. J.B. Sobel, chief medical officer of senior products for BlueCross. “We are thrilled to have someone with her expertise and accomplishments on our team.”
Before joining BlueCross, Pitts served as director of case management at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Her other previous leadership roles include case management manager at IlliniCare Health Plan and senior manager of clinical operations for case management with Health Care Service Corporation under BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois.
Pitts earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina, and a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Nursing from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. She holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Liberty University, and is a Certified Case Manager (CCM).
