Insurer earns awards for workplace culture
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BlueCross) has recently received several awards acknowledging the company’s supportive employee culture and commitment to creating a workplace that helps employees succeed.

Best In State Employers– Forbes
BlueCross has been recognized by Forbes for the seventh time in a row as one of its best employers in Tennessee. The company ranked #16 out of 80 employers in the state and was the second-highest ranked insurer in Tennessee.
Forbes partners with Statista, a market research firm, to survey more than 160,000 employees from across the country. Best Employer for Company Culture– Forbes
BlueCross was recently named Best Employer for Company Culture by Forbes, ranking #159 out of 600 companies. The company was also the fourth-highest ranked Blue plan on the inaugural list.
Forbes partnered with Statista, a market research firm, to survey more than 218,000 workers on fairness, inclusivity and opportunity within the workplace. Questions evaluated work-life balance, collaboration among teams, recognition of good performance and advancement opportunities for employees. Best Employer for Women– Forbes
For the sixth time, BlueCross has been recognized by Forbes as one of its Best Employers for Women, ranked #7 out of 700 companies- the highest ranked Blue plan on the list.
Forbes partnered with Statista, a market research firm, to survey 140,000 women working at companies with at least 1,000 employees in the United States. Women were asked to rate their employer’s pay equity, advancement opportunities, parental leave, work-life balance, benefits for childcare or eldercare, and the company’s handling of incidents related to sexual misconduct and discrimination. Top Workplaces in Middle Tennessee- The Tennessean
Every year, The Tennessean partners with an employee engagement technology partner, Energage LLC, to rank the best places to work in Middle Tennessee. This year, BlueCross ranked #9 out of 24 companies in the 125-399 employee category. This recognition is based on responses to a 25-question survey sent to Nashville-area employees with questions related to pay and benefits, direction, leadership, meaningfulness and appreciation.
