CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted Honey Gardner to a new role as director of small group account management.
Nashville-based Gardner has led account management operations for the company’s small group business for the past two years. She oversees a team of account executives responsible for renewing BlueCross coverage with thousands of group customers throughout the state.
“Honey has in-depth understanding of the needs of our customers in the small group market,” said John Maki, vice president of sales and account management for BlueCross. “Her awareness has been instrumental to her team’s ability to effectively deliver value to Tennessee-based employers we serve.”
Under Gardner’s leadership, the small group account executive team received Region of the Year awards in 2016 and 2017.
A long-time BlueCross employee, Gardner brings two decades of company experience to her new role as director. Prior to serving as manager of small group accounts, she was an account executive for the small and intermediate accounts. She also spent time in the company’s claims and membership divisions early in her career.
Gardner is pursuing an associate’s degree in management from Motlow State Community College, where she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
