New report includes overview of our year, and the positive impact BlueCross continues to bring to our members, employees and community
CHATTANOOGA – BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BlueCross) spotlights its commitment to providing affordable health care solutions, improving health outcomes and giving back to our communities in its annual Impact Report. In the 2024 version, BlueCross highlights important initiatives launched by the business and employee-led efforts that brought significant benefits to our members and neighbors.
This year’s edition provides key statistics on these efforts, including:
- Total claims costs paid in 2024
- Lower cost for Network S over Network P
- Medicare Advantage Star Rating
- BlueSky Institute graduates and new hires
- Employee volunteer hours

Our new 2024 report reveals that:
- Over 130,000 members took advantage of virtual care visits, obtaining the care they needed without leaving home
- More than 1 million members received health planners suggesting preventive screenings, immunizations or chronic condition care available
- There were over 1 million visits to BlueCross Healthy Places located across the state
- The first BlueSky Institute cohort graduated with all 27 eligible students hired for competitive IT roles at BlueCross
- Ninety-four percent of our engaged workforce believes that people of all backgrounds can succeed at BlueCross, beating the benchmarks set by other high-performing companies
