BlueCross Promotes Manning to Director of Total Rewards

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has chosen April Manning as director of its Total Rewards program, which includes compensation, wellness, benefits and retirement savings.

Manning has more than two decades of experience in human resources, with particular expertise in compensation. She previously served as principal consultant for the company’s Total Rewards program, where she helped develop and maintain competitive overall employee benefits packages.

“April has considerable expertise in compensation and other benefits important to our employees,” said Gary Steele, vice president of human resources for BlueCross. “She fully understands our company’s commitment to our employees, and to making BlueCross the employer of choice in our industry and the Southeast.”

Before joining BlueCross, Manning served as a senior compensation analyst at Unum.  Her previous experience includes HR generalist roles in the automotive sales and supplemental insurance industries.                          

Manning earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration management with a concentration in human resources from Columbus State University. She is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, and a long-standing member of the WorldatWork human resources association.
